Surf and Turf Building

Surf and Turf Building

This plot, located in the Port of Andratx, presented a challenge on several fronts: a steep slope, strict limits on where we could build—only at the bottom of the site—and views facing north, with the harbour in front and the mountains behind.

Our clients, a group of private investors, commissioned us to design six high energy-efficiency homes. We envisioned a building where all units have both a private garden and a rooftop terrace, with living spaces that flow between the sea and the mountains views—stretching from north to south—with outdoor areas on every level.

The building adapts to the site’s topography, forming a perforated structure with an irregular silhouette that echoes the outline of the nearby mountain range.

In the communal area, we designed a large swimming pool. The rest of the open space is landscaped in terraces, in keeping with the traditional island vernacular.
